8th Grade Final Exam Salina Kansas 1895

For quite a few years, something's been bouncing around the Internet and in state surveying society newsletters about a test 8th grade students had to take in Salina, Kansas in 1895. It's quite shocking, and the thing most adults tell themselves as they read it is, "Why, even I couldn't pass this test!" For once and for all, this is a hoax, as can be seen at http://www.snopes.com/language/document/1895exam.asp

Updated BLM "The Durability of Bearing Trees" Made Available on Web

I have just made available on the Internet BLM's book "The Durability of Bearing Trees"...There are some photos on pages of some species and as soon as I can get more photos in place I will be producing a small water proof field guide for surveyors as well as an online PDF version for easy printing. If any of your readers have photos of bearing trees or unusual recovered BT's, Blazes, etc...I would be happy to add them to the site. I can be reached at daryl at landsurveyor.pro
